Students are introduced with different types of journalistic discourse and are capable of distinguishing among them: essay, interview, gloss, comment, criticism, reportage, travelogue, polemic etc. They are familiarized with different ways of argumentation, with rhetoric figures, assumptions and suppositions, with different types of semantic analysis of texts, with conceptual dilemmas between foreign words vs. purism and with criticism of the ideology of mass media.
