A minimum of a 3-week work placement is required in a professional setting providing language services and/or solutions. During their internship students become familiar with language services and language solutions within a work setting. The internship should take place during the winter exam period and during the break, i. e. between January 15 and February 15, or in June, July, August or September. At the end of the work placement, the student is required to write a report and is issued a certificate by the chosen employer. Prior to work placement students have to fill out an application form which provides details of their internship. The internship has to be prearranged with one of the employers that signed a work placement agreement. Time and place of the internship should be specified in the application, and both the work placement coordinator as well as the programme secretary notified of the work placement. Work placements can also take place in an organisation which is not on the list of regular employers who signed the work placement agreement; however, this needs to be approved by the work placement co-ordinator. At the end of their work placement, students have to produce a report to be reviewed by the work placement co-ordinator.
