The course offers a review of theories of cultural globalization- The point of departure is the impact of globalization on local cultures and identities as well as the study of interactions between the global and the local in economy, social and political life. Topics include cultural imperialism, cultural synchronization; hybridization and creolization; glokalization. Theoretical base is derived from sociological studies, postcolonial paradigm, cultural studies and postfeminist analysis.
